This establishment is a great find for
lovers of good wine. The owner has put
together a remarkable collection of more than
250 wines from France (Champagne, Alsace,
Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Rhone) (90%) and the
Czech Republic and Slovenia (10%). All the
wines on offer are organic and do not use
chemical additives or preservatives of any
kind. This may well be the biggest collection
of organic wine in Prague. The owner is so
passionate about wine that he personally visits each winery to sample and choose each item in his collection. This means that there are many small wineries represented which are not stocked by mainstream suppliers. Many of these are available by the glass at very reasonable prices because the owner purchases direct from the producer and passes on the saving to the restaurant guests. Bottles of wine may also be purchased to take away.
Needless to say there is an expert sommelier
at hand to advise you on your choice.
The international menu concentrates
on a few permanent favourites while the
rest of the items are changed on a daily basis
depending on seasonal ingredients and
recipes. Being located a few minutes from
Charles Bridge, behind the Naprstek Museum
is pretty handy. The stripped-down interior
uses bleached wood and light finishes to
create a calm and minimalist setting.
