Those who have lived in Prague over the past few years will have noticed the gradual commercialisation of the Old Town Square, its innocence being lost behind a myriad of market stalls. But there is a smaller, quieter square, Týnský Dvůr, only a stone’s throw away, under the shadow of the twin Týn Church towers, which still maintains much of the lost charm and character of the Old Town. The restaurant Rybí Trh (literally Fish Market) is centered around the idea of offering diners the delights of the sea, flown in daily and laid out on a bed of ice for general viewing. It is not every restaurant where you are introduced to your food before having it served to you on a platter. Once you make a choice, you can have it boiled, baked or grilled and served with a range of hot sauces. You can also order sushi, Canadian lobster from the aquarium, grilled with garlic butter (1,690Kč). There are so many delicacies you just have to come back for another sitting.
